Abstract
For evaluating seismic performance of braced frames, it is necessary to make analytical models accurately represent a cyclic behavior of bracing members obtained from experiments. There are 3 main types of analytical models (phenomenological model, finite element model, and physical theory model), and physical theory models can predict accurately hysteretic behaviors of braces with simple calculations. The research developed a physical theory model for HSS braces to predict hysteretic behavior accurately. Developed model contains empirical factors such as growth factor, buckling load factor.
