청각·언어장애인을 위한 의사소통 모바일 앱(App) UX/UI 디자인 연구

Abstract

오늘날 청각⋅언어장애인들이 사회생활에서 자유로운 의사소통의 한계로 인하여 비장애인은 물론 같은장애인들과도 소통의 장애를 겪고 있다. 이러한 점을극복하기 위한 수단으로써 의사소통 보조기기의 역할이 매우 중요하다. 그러나 보조기기의 국내 개발이 활발히 이루어지지 않아 높은 가격대의 수입제품 및 유사제품을 사용하는 경우가 대다수로, 수요자인 장애인들이 구매하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 또한 이러한보조기기는 청각⋅언어장애인들의 시각에서 논의하거나 사회적 특성을 고려하지 않고 개발되어 실용적인의사 표현에 있어 제한적인 한계를 보여주었다.

이에 본 연구에서는 청각⋅언어장애인들을 대상으로 한 의사소통 보조기기 디자인 시 고려해야 할 사항들과, FGI(Focus Group Interview)1)를 통한 문제점과 요구사항을 도출하여 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로현대사회 디지털기기의 스마트 영역이 확대되고, UX/UI 디자인 중요성이 증대됨에 따라 모바일기기기본 외형 안에서 청각⋅언어장애인들의 의사소통이원활하게 이루어지는 UX/UI 디자인 개선에 참조할앱(App) 디자인 가이드라인을 제안하였다.

제안된 UX/UI 디자인가이드라인은 사용자의 편리성, 접근성, 오류 최소화, 휴대성 등 대화의 효율성을향상시켜 삶의 질이 더욱 개선 될 수 있을 것이다.;Today due to the limit of the free communication in society by the Hearing & Language impaired, they are experiencing communication difficulties with the non-disabled as well as the disabled. As a method of overcoming these problems, communication assisting devices play an important role. In most cases, however, disabled people as a customer suffer from purchasing assisting devices caused by difficulties of developing the devices in the domestic market. In consequence, people use imported or similar products with the higher price range. Also these assisting goods have been developed without considering the social characteristics or the view of people with hearing & language disabilities. Therefore, it showed restrictive limits on practical communication. In this study, it suggested consideration for people with disabilities when communication auxiliary equipment is designed. Furthermore, problems and requirements deduced from the FGI(Focused Group Interview). Based on this information, the study proposes the Application guidelines for referring UX/UI design improvement in order to achieve good communication for the hearing & language disabled by the basic outline of the mobile device as expanding the smart areas of digital devices in modern society and emphasizing the importance of UX/UI design. The suggested UX/UI design guidelines advance the effectiveness of communication; convenience in use, accessibility, minimized errors and portability, therefore, disabled people’s quality of life can be further improved.
