Abstract
As the Fourth Industrial Revolution is counted as an important issue in each industrial group, the technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution was applied to architecture. Especially, smart home system is widely applied to security, communication, info-service, and home appliances related to Internet of Things (IoT). An increase in interest as to smart home system has been highlighted because of the development of IT devices at home and a proliferation of smart-device. This, consequently, be expected to develop not only control of home system but also the service industry of the entire construction. However, it is pointed out that there is no comprehensive evaluation model such as which functions are most useful and meaningful functions in practice. In this study, conducting a survey associated with the effectiveness of smart home technology in multi-family apartment in Korea. This study investigate the effectiveness and usability of current smart home technology thorough the example about IU SHELL. This study will be a fundamental research for improving smart home technology as to future projects in Korea.
