- Abstract
- In this study, we fabricated a single stream type fabric-based electrochemical microfluidic fuel cell. In previous studies, Paper-board fuel cells have a short duration and have the disadvantage of reducing flexibility by producing channels with Photo-lithography. To solve this problem, fuel cells were manufactured in the fabric, and channels were manufactured with Stencil technique using waterproof spray only for the fabric. As a result, the fabric maintained its inherent flexibility and increased the duration of the fuel cell. Electrodes were applied with Screen Printing by mixing catalysts with graphene paste.
Through fuel cell performance measurement, we determined the optimal type of fiber, electrode shape, and combination of fuel and electrolyte. Under optimal conditions, the maximum power density is 0.547mW/cm2, the maximum current density is 2.39mA/cm2 and duration is 10 hours. Compared to the fuel cell of the paper tray, the performance is not inferior and the duration is better.
