Abstract
The recent implementation of the coastal reclamation projects are actively processed to build port facilities. Recent trend in such reclamation uses the marine clay soil dredged on the sea, considering the economical efficiency due to the limitation of supply and demand of quality reclamation materials. The purpose of this study is to develop the technology that reduces the stabilization period of the dredged and reclaimed soils through early settlement and self-weight consolidation. This study initiated three proposed solutions: Stratified Sand Installation, Insertion of Additive and Vertical Drainage Method in marine, and performed a column test of each proposed solution laboratory to analyze the characteristics of settlement and self-weight consolidation. Each proposed solution generally produced favorable results. It is concluded that the vertical drainage method in marine is the most efficient solution to accelerate the settlement and self-weight consolidation of the dredged clay soil.
