Abstract
The combustion processes in a HCCI engine fueled by gasoline and diesel were analyzed numerically using reduced chemical kinetics. The reaction mechanism consisting of 34 species and 58 reactions including the Zel’dovich NOx formation was implemented in the KIVA-3V code. To consider the effects of turbulent mixing on the reaction rates the characteristic time scale model was applied. The combustion analysis were demonstrated for the cases of gasoline/diesel pre-mixture and gasoline pre-mixture with diesel spray. The pressure curves and the heat release rates were compared with measured data, and the results show a good agreement reasonably.
