초등학교 고학년의 휴대전화 사용정도와 학습몰입 및 학업성취도의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 초등학교 고학년의 휴대전화 사용정도, 학습몰입 및 학업성취도가 어떤 관계가 있는지를 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 초등학교 고학년의 휴대전화 사용실태는 어떠한가? 둘째, 초등학교 고학년의 휴대전화 사용정도와 학습몰입의 관계는 어떠한가? 셋째, 초등학교 고학년의 휴대전화 사용정도와 학업성취도의 관계는 어떠한가? 넷째, 초등학교 고학년의 학습몰입과 학업성취도의 관계는 어떠한가? 본 연구는 초등학교 6학년 219명중 휴대전화를 소유하고 있는 175명을 대상으로 휴대전화 사용실태, 휴대전화 사용정도, 학습몰입, 학업성취도에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 먼저 연구 대상자의 79.9%가 휴대전화를 소유하고 있었으며, 남학생에 비해 여학생이 더 많이 소유하고 있었다. 또한 휴대전화 사용정도가 높은 집단은 휴대전화의 사용비용과 사용 건수가 많았고, 통화대상은 주로 친구였다. 그리고 문자메시지를 즐겨 사용하였으며, 집에서 주로 사용하였다. 둘째, 휴대전화 사용정도에 따른 학습몰입은 휴대전화 사용이 많은 상집단의 학생이 하집단에 비해 학습몰입도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다(F=3.52, p<.05). 셋째, 휴대전화 사용 정도에 따른 학업성취도는 휴대전화 사용이 많은 상집단의 아동이 하집단에 비해 학업성취도에서 낮은 점수를 받았다(F=4.30, p<.05). 마지막으로 학습몰입이 높은 상집단 아동은 학업성취도에서 높은 점수를 받은 것으로 나타났다(F=45.63, p<.001). 이러한 연구 결과는 휴대전화 사용정도, 학습몰입 및 학업성취도는 상관이 있으며, 휴대전화 사용정도가 학습몰입에 영향을 미치고, 학습몰입은 학업성취도에 영향을 미치고 있음을 보여준다. 즉, 휴대전화를 많이 사용할수록 학습몰입도가 낮아지고, 학업성취도 평가에서 낮은 점수를 받을 수 있음을 시사한다.; The purposes of this study was to examine what the relationship is among the extent of mobile phone usage, learning flow and academic achievement of high-grade elementary school students. To address this concern, four investigations were conducted. First, what is the status of the use of mobile phones by elementary school upper grader students? Second, what is the correlation between mobile phone usage and learning flow? Third, what is the correlation between mobile phone usage and academic achievement? Finally, what is the correlation between learning flow and academic achievement? The instruments used in the study were questionnaires about the status of mobile phone use, the extent of mobile phone usage, learning flow and academic achievement from 175 6th grade elementary school students who use mobile phones. The data analysed with Cronbach's alpha, crosstabulation analysis, one-way ANOVA and scheff? test in use of SPSS 17.0 program. As a result of first study, 79.9 percent were mobile phone owners, with more girl students than boy students who owned them. In addition, a top user group of mobile phone usage had many mobile phone expenses and amount of times used. The targets of mobile phone use were usually friends at home. Second, those who had a high amount of mobile phone usage had low level of learning flow(F=3.52, p<.05). Third, those who had a high amount of mobile phone usage had low academic achievement(F=4.30, p<.05). Fourth, those who had high level of learning flow had high academic achievement(F=45.63, p<.001). As a result, it was found that a high amount of mobile phone usage had low level of learning flow that could result in a decrease in academic achievement.
