Abstract
A composite of electrode materials (LiFePO4, TiO2) and MgO templated disordered mesoporous carbon matrix was prepared through infiltrating a electrode materials precursor solution into the carbon matrix and growing material nanocrystals in the pore of the carbon. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) image showed that electrode material nanoparticles are embedded homogeniously in the mesoporous carbon without formation of large particles out of the pores. The pores of the carbon are believed to suppress crystal growth of electrode materials. The electrochemical properties were evaluated by constant current charge/discharge cycling. The as prepared electrode materials presented excellent high-rate characteristics and cyclabilities. It is believed that the electric conductivity and cycle performance of electrode material particles were effectively enhanced due to the uniformly dispersed particles in carbon matrix.
