- Abstract
- This paper proposes a novel hybrid transverse flux switched reluctance generator (H-TFSRG) for wind turbine. To increase the ouput power of TFSRG, The volume of TFSRG must be increased because TFSRG is desinged using D2L method. Therefore novel H-TFSRG is proposed to maintain the volume of the TFSRG and to increase output power. Design parameters of the TFSRG are calculated using output equation and maximum MMF equation per pole. After design of the TFSRG, the volume of magnet is calculated to design the H-TFSRG. The torque and inductance of the TFSRG are confirmed by 3-D finite element analysis (FEA) for one phase. Turn-on and turn-off angles of switching devices are determined using maximum and minimum inductance from FEA results and pole arc of stator and rotor from design parameters. These angles are utilized to generating characteristics analysis using asymmetric bridge converter. Output power and generated voltage at rated speed are shown as results of generating characteristics.
