dc.description.abstract | The imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA), derived from the field of human social evolution, is a meta-heuristic method. In this research, the ICA and finite element analysis are adopted for topology optimization for static nonlinear structures. The following conclusions are obtained from the results of examples through the suggested topology optimization algorithm based on the ICA; (1) The ICA is very applicable and effective in nonlinear structural topology optimization for obtaining a stable and robust optimal layout. (2) The optimal topology from the ICA has converged significantly fast compared to other topology optimization methods. | en_US |
