Abstract
Inflation is a theory of exponential expansion in the early universe. If we assume that the inflation-driving particle is a scalar, we expect that the Standard Model(SM) Higgs field might play that role. In this thesis, I study inflation driving by Higgs field nonminimally coupling to gravity by using generalized Einstein theories. I will compare the prediction of this theory with the observation to see whether this theory provides a viable inflation model.
