Electric motor is one of the important components for regenerative brake (iMEB) system because it highly affects not only overall performance but also total weight and volume of the system. Generally, mechanical characteristics such as stiffness, vibration and noise are becoming weakened when the motor is designed to improve power density with a limited space. In order to overcome those side effects and improve power density, spoke type motor (STM) with a novel rotor structure for less leakage flux is presented. Moreover, combination of poles and slots are modified by 14 poles and 18 slots to reduce vibration and noise. Finally, electromagnetic performance and deformation/noise of the STM are validated by electromagnetic analysis, structure analysis, and ibration/noise analysis.en_US
