dc.description.abstractEfficient technique to calculate the statistical moment of response function and formulation to determine statistical moments of random variables considering performance, variance and manufacturing cost is proposed in this paper. Generally variance of response function due to random variables can be expressed as improper multi-dimensional integration. Since it is difficult to obtain the results, multi-dimensional integration is approximated using uni-variate dimension reduction method and each single dimensional integration term is calculated using analytical form of quadratic function. Proposed formulation is composed of manufacturing cost as an objective function and performance and variance of response function as constraints. Then proposed method is applied to the fatigue life of truck frame example.en_US
