하이브리드 카메라를 이용한비전 기반 손 모양 인식 방법

Abstract

춤에 관한 연구에서 안무가의 춤 동작을 인식하는 것은 중요한 주제 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 사용자의 동작 중에서도 손동작에 해당하는 손의 위치와 손 모양을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적인 손의 위치와 손 모양을 인식하는 방법은 복잡한 배경에서는 동작하기 힘들다는 단점을 가지고 있으나, 제안하는 방법은 적외선과 가시광선의 입력을 동시에 받는 하이브리드 카메라를 이용함으로써 복잡한 배경에서도 효과적으로 손을 검출할 수 있다. 또한, 대상의 몸에 마커나 센서를 부착함으로써 사용자의 움직임을 추적하는 방법과는 다르게 비전 기반 방법을 사용함으로써 안무가의 몰입을 방해하지 않으면서 양손의 위치와 손 모양을 인식할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 간단하지만 효과적인 방법을 사용함으로써 실시간 연산이 가능하다.It is an important issue in the research field of dance, especially choreography, to recognize body gestures. This paper focuses on hand gestures among various body gestures and proposes a vision-based method of recognizing hand positions and hand shapes. Hand recognition methods are generally weak to cluttered background; however, the proposed method can recognize two hands robustly in cluttered background by using a hybrid camera which captures color and infrared images. Also, it does not require markers or physical sensors to be attached on body and thus does not disturb user’s immersion. Furthermore, the proposed method is simple and efficient and thus works in real-time.
