dc.description.abstract | In order to reduce manufacturing cost and lead time, modular system designs have been applied in many industrial areas. But, there are some issues to be addressed in order to expand the application of the modular system design. When a module is designed, an accurate engineering specification for themodule is not usually provided from a system manufacturer to a module supplier. Also, security issues prevent the module supplier from accessing the detail specification of the target system to be mounted on. These problems make the module supplier spend a lot of money and time until the modulesatisfies the target performance in an iterative way. This paper describes requirements for a software framework for plug-in modular system designs thatcan share the target performance between multi-tiers in a secure way. This software framework will offer the features for sharing a secured model between multi-tiers and assembling parts in a plug-in way. By providing this software framework for the modular system designs, module-suppliers cansatisfy the desired performance in a less amount of time than before with a reduced cost, and have their design capability and competitiveness. | en_US |
