dc.description.abstractIn order to reducing the facility cost of the expanding process in the roll forming of eco-friendly studs, the side roll method was introduced. The stress and strain distributions obtained from the finite element process simulation were examined for the design analysis of the expanding process. The side roll method employed instead of the general upperand-lower roll one can cut down the expanding process length about 40% and reduce the manufacturing cost of dies 60%.en_US
