dc.description.abstractEnvironmental regulations and large demand on driver’s convenience accelerate electrification in vehicle industry. As electrification of vehicles has been progressed, hydraulic power steering (HPS) systems replaced by electric power steering (EPS) systems. There are many things to consider in EPS systems like stability, convenience, and response characteristics. In this paper, response characteristics of EPS motor are analyzed. Response characteristics according to variation of permanent magnet shape are verified by analytic approach using electro-mechanical time constant. Design process is done in fulfilling the performance demand and response characteristics are examined by MATLAB Simulink simulation.en_US
