dc.description.abstractBulk Y2O3 phosphor bodies doped with Yb3+ and Er3+ were fabricated by a spark plasma sintering technique and their light emission efficiency has been evaluated. The sintered bodies are highly dense and transparent. Green and red up-conversion (UC) characteristics of Y2O3 : Yb3+, Er3+ sintered bodies were elucidated and their light emission efficiencies were found to be superior to the normal phosphor. The phosphor mechanism related to the light emission efficiency of a transparent Y2O3 : Yb3+, Er3+ phosphor sintered body has been explained in detail.en_US
