Abstract
The sound insulation performance is one of the important criteria for comfortable acoustical environment. In Korea, building regulations specify sound insulation requirements for multi-story buildings based on the laboratory measurement. However, the evaluation results between laboratory and in-situ environment have difference. Therefore, it has difficulty to satisfy practical comfortable environment in multi-story buildings. The EN 12354-1 is sound insulation performance evaluation method between two rooms for predicting in-situ performance based on the sound insulation performance from laboratory measurements, however the acoustic environment in Korea should be considered for the applicability of prediction model.
