dc.description.abstractAn impulse radar-UWB antenna for home security service application is proposed. The antenna consists of a partially elliptical monopole and a couch-like reflector. The couch-like reflector creates an antenna beam wide enough to be used for home security service applications. In addition, the antenna can be inconspicuously installed in the upper corner of a room. The dimension of the proposed antenna is 21 x 38 x 20 mm3. The measured H-plane beam width is wider than 130 degrees over the 10 dB return loss bandwidth of the antenna (6.7-10.33 GHz). The peak gain is greater than 4 dBi in the frequency band of interest.
