- Abstract
- Proper selection of ground motions is important for predicting accurate demand and capacity of the structure using linear and nonlinear time history analyses of the structure. This paper compares with results from two method for selecting ground motions matching a target spectrum which are proposed by Kottke and Rathje (2008) and Han and Seok (2011), respectively. each method help users to select ground motions from the ground motion library that have their mean response spectrum matching the shape and magnitude of the target response spectrum easily. Results from each method show that Han and Seok (2011)’s method is even more efficient and enough accurate to realize target values, especially a target variance.
