dc.description.abstractCurrently, Automotive industry is trying to reduce the weight of the vehicle to achieve the goal of improving fuel efficiency. Therefore, the application ratio of various light weight material such as aluminum and magnesium alloy has been increasing. But there is a difficulty in melting-based welding such as resistance spot welding and arc welding in order to weld such materials. Ultrasonic welding is an alternative to welding these materials more energy efficient and better. Although Ultrasonic welding has many advantages, there are not yet many studies about mechanisms such as specific welding process and weldability change caused by process variables. Therefore in this study, we investigate the formation of ultrasonic welds in detail. For this purpose, we analyzed the development process of ultrasonic welding according to welding time using aluminum foil, and high speed camera was used to analyze the process parameter’s effect. Tracking data, section analysis, and mechanical strength testing are conducted together and a comprehensive analysis is produced.-
