I (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) is an advanced form of power metering system for smart grid. The AMI communicates information which is required for efficient power management with server. This information needs to protect because this information can be exploited. AMI can use public key certificate to protect this information. However, AMI can be physical attacked because the AMI is located outdoor as existing power metering system. AMI needs an additional security techniques against physical attacks. In order to solve these security problems, we propose the hardware (HW) public key certificate chip using unique identifier (ID) as an alternative. © 2015 IEEE.en_US
