dc.description.abstractIn the development of an in-wheel motor system, the driving power and efficiency are important specifications of the system. To satisfy the highly demanded driving power from driving conditions, reduction gear for increasing power is applied for the in-wheel motor system and the estimation of optimal gear ratio for motor efficiency is an important factor. In this paper, the dynamic simulation model including in-wheel motor system is developed for the analysis of motor efficiency using model based design methodology. Applying optimization algorithm to the simulation of the dynamic system, optimal reduction gear ratio which minimizes the electric power consumption of motor was obtained.en_US
