역설적 감정의 다성적 노래: 몬테베르디의 ‘Ah, dolente partita’의 경우

Abstract

과리니의 시에 음악을 붙인 몬테베르디의 ‘Ah, dolente partita’는 다소간 특별한 방식으로 다성 텍스처를 사용하고 있다. 전반부에서는 모방기점기법을 사용하는 것 같으나 각 행의 모티브들이 너무나 유사하여 마치 하나의 모티브로 다성 텍스처를 이루고 있는 것처럼 보인다. 후반부에서는각행의 모티브가 각각 두 개씩 등장하여 그것들끼리 대위법을 이루도록 만들고 있다. 다성 텍스처의 이러한 특별한 운용은 과리니의 시의 의미론적절정인 ‘vivace morire’(생생한 죽음) 이라는 역설적 표현을 음악적으로번역해낸 결과인 것으로 여겨진다. Montevedi’s polyphonic setting of Guarini’s ‘Ah, dolente partita’ is somewhat problematic. In the first half, he employed the point of imitaion technique, but his motives are too similar to represent the individuality of the lines. In the second half, he used two different motives for each line. Those two motives makes a contrapunctal texture. In this way, he seems to express the semantic highlight of Guarini’s poem―‘vivace morire’ which expresses the paradox of ‘life’ and ‘death.’
