Abstract
Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer (PDPA) was used to measure the size and velocity of droplets, and an ICCD camera and Nd:YAG laser was used to capture the sprayed cross section. Deionized water (DIW) and N2 gas were supplied to an external mixing twin-fluid nozzle with the flow rate of 45cc/min and 50LPM each. The geometry of twin-fluid nozzle varies four types such as DIW hole size, N2 gas outlet angle, N2 gas outlet shape, and group-hole nozzle. As the result, SMD depends on DIW hole diameter because of the gap between DIW outlet and N2 outlet. N2 gas outlet angle and shape affect velocity of droplets.
