의사소통역량에 대한 대학생의 교육요구도 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 대학생이 인식하는 의사소통 행동에 대한 현재수준(what is)과 해당 의사소통 행동의 중요수준(what should be) 간의 차이를 파악하여 의사소통역량에 대한 교육요구도를 분석하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울 소재 H대학에 재학 중인 560명을 대상으로 의사소통역량을 구성하는 다섯 가지 하위역량(해석, 역할수행, 자기제시, 목표설정, 메시지전환)에 대한 IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 목표설정이 현재 수행수준은 낮으나 미래에 보강이 필요한 정도가 높은, 즉 교육요구도가 가장 높은 능력으로 나타났다. 그 다음으로 중요수준과 수행수준이 모두 높은, 즉, 지속 및 유지가 필요한 역량은 메시지전환과 해석인 것으로 확인되었다. 아울러 Borich의 요구도 분석을 실시한 결과, 목표설정에 대한 교육요구도가 가장 높은 것으로 확인되었으며, 그 다음은 메시지전환, 역할수행, 해석, 자기제시 순으로 나타났다. 의사소통교육에 대한 수요자인 대학생들의 실제적 요구가 반영된 본 연구 결과는 향후 대학생 대상 의사소통역량 향상을 위한 교육과정 구축 및 프로그램 개발에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational needs for communication capacity (interpretive, social role, self, goal, and message) by comparing how students evaluate their current communication competency and what do students think is the most crucial in communication competency. Five-hundred and sixty undergraduate students completed the survey. The result of Borich's need assessment showed that the students identified goal competency as the most needed one, then message competency, social role competency, interpretive competency, and self competency. In addition, the result of Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) identified that goal competency stands at a low level currently in which requires further improvement in the future, and message and interpretive competencies stand at a high level currently in which requires maintenance. This study result could be utilized as a basic data for the future educational curriculum development for improving undergraduate students’ communication capacity.
