dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we proposed a fast thumbnail extraction algorithm using partial decoding for HEVC. The proposed algorithm reconstructs only 4x4 boundary and TU boundary needed for thumbnail image with partial decoding. Experimental results show that proposed method significantly reduces the computational complexity and extraction time for thumbnail. In addition, the visual quality of thumbnail image of proposed method had no big difference compared to conventional method. © (2015) COPYRIGHT Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
