공부하는 학생선수의 대학경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 때로는 대학생으로, 때로는 운동선수로의 역할을 수행하여야 하는 공부하는 학생선수인 대학생들의 경험을 과거ㆍ현재ㆍ미래를 중심으로 이야기하고 분석하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 내러티브 탐구(narrative inquiry)를 수행하였다. 우선 4가지 연구 참여자 선정기준에 부합하는 4명(아이스하키, 야구, 육상, 기계체조)의 연구 참여자들로부터 현장텍스트를 수집하고 연구텍스트로의 전환을 통해 내러티브 패턴, 줄거리, 주제를 찾아갔다. 우선 이야기하기를 통해 4명의 연구 참여자들의 대학입학 전ㆍ중ㆍ후의 내러티브를 확인하고, 다시 이야기하기를 통해 첫째, 그들은 운동과 공부 병행의 어려움 속에도 그것이 필수인 것을 인지하고 있었다. 둘째, 그러한 변화가 현장에서 얼마나 모순적인지를 토로하고 있다. 셋째, 그럼에도 운동부라는 자부심이 상당히 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 내러티브를 마치며 학습권(學習權)과 운동권(運動權) 사이에서 고민하는 공부하는 학생선수의 모습이 매우 걱정스러워 보인다.;This study aims to examine and analyze the experiences of college student-athletes who should take the role of college students and athletes centered around the past, present and future. To achieve this goal, a narrative inquiry was conducted. First, field texts were collected from four participants (ice hockey, baseball, athletics and gymnastics) who met four criteria for the selection of research participants, and their narrative patterns, plots and themes were found through the transition to the study text. Through storytelling, their narrative before, during, after college admission were identified, and again through storytelling, it was found that first, in spite of their difficulty in combining sports with study, they recognized they should do so. Second, they expressed how contradictory such a change was in the field. Third, nevertheless, they still had a great pride of being in the athletic club. Lastly, the student-athletes who were studying while agonizing between the right to learn and the right to exercise seem to create anxiety.
