잡지광고의 정보성 변화에 대한 시차분석연구

Abstract

본 연구에서는 지난 20년 동안 우리나라 잡지 광고에 나타난 정보성 수준의 변화를 알아보기 위해서 1985년, 1994년과 2004년 등 세 기간 동안에 집행된 광고물에 대한 내용분석을 시도하였다. 국내에서 발간된 소비자 대상의 주요 월간지들에서 수집된 총 2,622개의 광고물을 대상으로 Resnik and Stern (1977) 의 광고정보 분류체계를 사용하여 정보적 광고의 양적 변화, 평균적 정보량과 정보내용, 제품유형에 따른 정보성 등을 시차적으로 분석했다. 분석결과에서 2004년에 집행된 잡지광고의 정보성 수준이 가장 높았고 세 기간에 걸쳐 사용된 광고 정보량과 내용에 있어서 두드러진 변화가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 광고 정보성의 변화 패턴은 선형적인 것과 비선형적인 것이 혼재된 양상으로 나타났으며 이러한 연구결과에 대해서 광고집행시기, 시장과 소비자 인식, 제도적인 관점에서 논의가 이루어졌다.;This study presents a longitudinal analysis of Korean magazine advertising over the past two decades. To examine whether the changing Korean advertising industry was accompanied by changing levels of advertising information content, this study replicates previous research(Moon and Franke, 1987; 1996), using Resnik and Stern's(1977) classification scheme of advertising information. A total of 2,622 unduplicated ads executed in consumer magazines in 1985, 1994 and 2004 were analyzed in terms of number of cues, type of information, product type and ad size. The results show changes in the amount and type of information featured in magazine ads during the three periods. However, it is observed that some of the changing patterns are linear, while some others are not linear. Implications of the findings are discussed in relation to operational time periods, changing market environment and advertising institutional point of view.
