dc.description.abstractIn this study, the separation characteristics of a polysulfone hollow fiber membrane for the removal of carbon dioxide and sulfur compounds from biogas were analyzed using a bench-scale experimental set-up. The permeance of each component was analyzed using binary mixtures (CH₄/N₂, CO₂/N₂, and CH₄/CO₂). The effects of stage cut and feed pressure on the recovery rate and purity of methane and the removal rate of each impurity were then investigated using a methane-rich mixture that simulates biogas (30% CO₂, 1900 ppm H₂S, 100 ppm COS and 100 ppm CS₂). As the stage cut increased, the CH₄ purity increased while its recovery rate decreased. Meanwhile, the removal efficiency of sulfur compounds was improved with increasing stage cut. It was also found that a higher feed pressure led to an improvement in the removal efficiency of sulfur compounds. In addition, a theoretical model was developed, and model predictions and experimental data were shown to be in good agreement.-
