As fuel efficiency regulation become stricter, car-makers all over the world have been accelerating the research of Hybrid Electric Vehicle(HEV) or Electric Vehicle(EV). Many different types of HEV architectures have been studied and optimized so far and more complicated powertrains are considered. For the forward step of fully electrified vehicle, All-Wheel- Drive(AWD) HEVs are on the rise with various advantages. In this paper, we conducted the architecture study of AWD HEV equipped with TMED(Transmission Mounted Electric Device) P2 motor and P4 motor, considering component capacities and powertrain layout combinations. Longitudinal vehicle dynamics based backward simulation, Dynamic Programming, was utilized for analysis over the selected driving cycles. Depending on the variables’ combinations, different torque distribution tendency was observed. The most appropriate device capacity and powertrain layout architecture were analyzed through further comparison of efficiency and weight of components.en_US
