- Abstract
- In this paper, we present a Energy Storage System (ESS) Optimal Control Method Connected to Wind Power Plant Considering Wind Condition. The penetration of wind farm can hinder the stability of grid so the smoothing by ESS should be applied. By assuming the wind speed profile is given, we can design the optimal ESS charging/discharging control logic with Model Predictive Control (MPC) method. The grid power command is achieved by 10 minute dispatch by utilizing the wind power with the given wind speed profile. We validate the developing algorithms with the numerical simulation.
