dc.description.abstractAn ultra-wideband 3-stage monocone antenna with top-hat loading is proposed. By employing the 3-stage monocone with top-hat, slot, and shorting pins, the miniaturization is achieved while maintaining the desired antenna performances. By connecting the shorting pins from the monocone top-hat to the ground plane, the antenna bandwidth at the low frequency limit is expanded. The slot inside the top-hat improves the impedance matching in the mid-frequency band. Furthermore, by adjusting the gradient of each stage, the impedance matching at the high frequency band is improved. The -10 dB reflection coefficient bandwidth of the proposed antenna is ranging from 0.47 GHz to 12.37 GHz.en_US
