Abstract
In recent years, people’s perception of housing has changed for a number of reasons, including changes in Korea’s population structure, soaring real estate prices and changes in ideas that value individuality, and interest in various small houses such as small houses, peanut houses and small houses has been growing. Unlike traditional houses, which are relatively inexpensive and occupy large areas in economic efficiency compared to apartments, small residential areas can secure sufficient living space on very small grounds. The advantages of narrow-scale housing, which is easy to focus on personal life and economical in price and can own buildings, have captivated many people. This study tries to grasp the spatial design characteristics of narrow houses using the characteristics of minimalism and to seek more changes in the limited space of narrow houses. Its purpose is to provide a reference to the minimalistic spatial representation design and to provide direction for future narrower houses that meet the diverse needs of residents and enhance the quality of their living. Based on various literary surveys and previous research, the research attempts to identify the minimal representation characteristics of small houses in Korea.
