Abstract
Korean labor unions are notorious for her militancy and hostility. Aso Korea has not accumulated bargaining protocol which is urgently needed for the formulation of cooperative labor-management relations. In this study, we reviewed that the advanced industrial nations tend to pursue more flexibility in bargaining both in terms of procedural and institutional aspects. In an effort to formulating new industrial relations framework which emphasizes cooperative labor-management relations, it is recommended to put an increasing concern on the followings: - design new labor-management relations paradigm which could contribute to enhancing autonomous bargaining ability between labor and management. - advancement of tripartism - motivating workers` participation in decision-making process (industrial democracy) and sharing various information concerning collective bargaining between labor and management - upgrading competitiveness in bargaining procedure and structure - finally create labor-management relations which could be harmonious with the characteristics of Korean society.
