군대 내 성폭력 피해 병사들의 경험에 관한 질적 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 군대 내에서 성폭력을 겪은 병사들의 경험에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 군대 내에서 성폭력을 겪은 전역자 10명을 대상으로 일대일 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 면담은 성폭력과 관련된 어려움, 군대 내에서 경험한 정서와 대인관계, 전역 이후 경험한 정서와 대인관계, 피해회복을 위한 노력과 적응과정을 중심으로 반 구조화된 질문을 통해 이루어졌으며, 수집된 자료는 합의적 질적 분석 방법(CQR)을 통해 분석하였다. 자료 분석의 결과, 성폭력을 경험한 군부대 내의 환경, 성폭력의 양상, 성폭력 이후의 경험, 피해회복을 위한 노력과 적응과정까지 총 4개의 영역이 도출되었고, 이하로 총 10개의 범주와 38개의 하위범주가 도출되었다. 연구 결과, 피해자의 심리적 회복을 돕는 요소로 적극적인 인지적 대처, 주변인과의 대화를 통한 지지의 수용, 신체활동, 그리고 시간의 흐름에 따른 변화 등이 효과적인 것으로 드러났다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 군대 내에서 발생된 성폭력 경험에 관한 다양한 시사점을 제시하였고, 문제의 예방 및 완화를 위한 지원 방안에 대해 논의하였다. This study examined the experiences of soldiers affected by sexual violence in the military. Data were collected through one-on-one, in-depth interviews with ten discharged soldiers who had experienced sexual violence in the military, and analyzed using the consensual qualitative analysis method. Interviews were conducted through semi-structured questions focusing on sexual violence-related difficulties, emotions and relationships experienced in the military, emotions and relationships experienced after discharge, efforts to recover from trauma, and the adaptation process. Four domains were derived, including ‘atmosphere where it is difficult to report sexual violence,’ ‘aspects of sexual violence,’ ‘feelings and interpersonal relationships after sexual violence,’ and ‘efforts and adaptation process for recovery from trauma,’ which were classified into 10 categories and 38 subcategories. Based on the results of this study, implications for the experience of sexual violence in the military, including prevention and mitigation measures, are discussed.
