dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the analytical method proposed by Menetrey was modified and supplemented to predict the punching shear strength of bridge deck which was strengthened by external bonding technique. A tendency of that the steel reinforcement has an influence with the punching strength of bridge deck can be reappeared mechanically in the strengthening material. Also the application of strengthening possibly make to increase effective depth for punching, in which critical crack inclinations are divided into two inclination angles, upper layer and lower layer to the main steel reinforcement, respectively. To verify the analytical method proposed in this paper, applications to the experimental results of existing literature are carried out. The result of applications show that proposed method has an accuracy in the prediction of punching strength for the bridge deck strengthened by external bonding technique.en_US
