사이버 성희롱의 발생요인에 관한 분석

Abstract

이 논문은 현재 우리 사회의 사이버공간에서 일어나는 성희롱 가해의 실태를 살펴보고, 그것의 발생요인을 분석하고 있다. 본 연구결과에 의하면, 네티즌들의 약 10? 사이버 성희롱을 행한 경험을 가지고 있으며, 남성, 10대와 20대, 중?고등학생이 사이버 성희롱 가해 가능성이 상대적으로 높은 집단이다. 또한 사이버 성희롱에 관한 네 가지 이론적 입장-역할놀이론, 권력론, 성병리론, 성충동론-을 검증해 본 결과 어느 이론도 지배적인 설명력을 갖지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 논문은 사이버 성희롱이 가성성과 현실성을 동시에 갖고 있으며, 권력적 동기와 성적 동기를 동시에 지니고 있는 복합적 현상이라는 결론에 도달하고 있다.

This paper analyzes online sexual harassment with a large collection of survey data. According to the data, about 10% of Internet users in South Korea committed some sorts of online sexual harassment. Male, young, and high-school-student users have relatively high propensity to commit online sexual harassment. Four competing theories-role play, gender dominance, sexual pathology, and sexual impulse-of online sexual harassment are tested against the empirical data. None of them explains it predominantly better than the others. This paper reaches a tentative conclusion that online sexual harassment be complex phenomenon which has dimensions of both virtuality and reality, and power and sexuality.
