dc.description.abstractThe two equivalent closed-form expressions of the bit error rate (BER) are presented for an aysnchronous DS-CDMA system using a maxumal ratio combining diversity over a Rician fading channel. The computational accuracy of the BER estimates evaluated by these expressions is compared and verified through comparison with a semi-analytical simulation result. It is shown mathematically that the BER formula, reduced to the case of the well-known Rayleigh channel, is equivalent to the formula presented previously.en_US
