dc.description.abstractPyrolysis of polypropylene and waste lubricating oil was carried out in the semi-batch reactor and catalytic bed using HY-zeolite. The oil products were obtained at 3 levels of catalyst bed temperatures, 300, 380, 450℃ and in the range of N2 flow rates of 60 to 150ml/min. The yields of oil obtained from pyrolysis of polypropylene and waste lubricating oil were 93.6wt% and 87.5wt% at 560℃ and 500℃ temperatures respectively. Catalytic pyrolysis showed different product pattern than that of thermal pyrolysis. For thermal degradation, the liquid hydrocarbon products were distributed in a wide range of hydrocarbons. On the other hand, for the degradation over HY-zeolite, the liquid products were rich in carbon fractions of n-C4 to n-C21 compounds. This result indicates that HY-zeolite promotes the degradation of hydrocarbons into lower molecular weight compounds.en_US
