The bridge deck is one of the major members affected by moving load such as automobiles. Especially, reinforced concrete bridge decks have been used because of its low construction cost and semi-permanent life. But, it is very difficult to find causes of the damage after or before constructions due to multiply causes. Therefore, the systematic maintenance techniques of R/C bridge deck, which include diagnosis, repair and rehabilitation, need for expert system. In this study, the characteristics and cause of the damage of R/C bridge decks were researched and then damage forms and knowledge databases were established. And, this thesis develops an algorithm of expert system for maintenance of R/C bridge deck.en_US
