In general, there have been limitations on the prediction of consolidation settlement of soft ground containing clayey soils due to their characteristics of stress conditions. This paper describes the influence of self-weight and creep on consolidation parameters, and the decision of consolidation constants resulted from the experimental conditions, and the consolidation characteristics under conditions of the incremental ratio of loading and loading time. As a result of this research, experimental results are quite similar to the numerically analyzed results that the isotache appear during the consolidation process, irrespective of incremental ratio of loading and loading time, and the measured results showed good agreement with simulated results.en_US
