dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the spray structure and evaporation characteristics for a use in a common rail direct injection type HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) engine. In this study, we measured the injection rate and visualized the spray structure of a HCCI injector. In addition, a CFD simulation for mixture formation was conducted to compare the simulation result with experimental result. From the result, we found that the spray penetration was propotional to ¼ exponent of back pressure. The result also indicated that the injection time and file I component have a great role in evaporation rate and mixture distribution.en_US
