The Purpose of this study is to clarify the co-relationship of Public library and travel cost in Sung-dong, Seoul. For that in this study we used "Random Chose Model" based on real user data.
The process of this study is as follows; First, by using the data of the Sung-dong Public Library's user database, we made "the number of book lental person" and "the number of book un-lental person". Second, by using the data of resident registration data, we made "each person's distance to the library". Third, by using the theory of random chose model, we seek the "travel cost" of each mesh. Forth, we seek the co-relationship of "travel cost" and "each mesh's distance to the library" by using of regression analysis, and displayed to the map.
The results of this study are as follows; First, it was proved that if the "distance" were increased one unit(250m×250m) than the "travel cost" will increase 0.553. At this time, because the "travel cost" is in inverse proportion to "Utility", it was proved that if the "distance" from domicile to library were increased than the utilities will be decrease.
Second, for using the book lental services the people who are living in a short-distance(0m~1,500m) are affected by "distance". But, the people who are living in a long-distance(1,500m~4,000m) are un-affected by "distance".
But, the difference between the maximum value and minimum value was not large. Because, in case of short distance, people may use personal move method just like walk on foot or use bicycle. but, in case of long distance, people may use public transportation system.
