비한자문화권 한국어 학습자를 위한 한자 · 한자어 선정과 교수 학습 방안

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 한국어 어휘 교육을 위한 한자와 한자어 목록을 선정하고 이를 바탕으로 기존의 한자 · 한자어 교재 상의 문제점을 보완하여 비한자문화권 한국어 학습자를 위한 한자 · 한자어 교수 학습 방안을 제시하는 것에 있다. 80년대 이후 한국어 학습자를 위한 한자와 한자어 교육에 대한 연구는 꾸준히 계속되어 왔으며, 한국어 어휘에서 한자어가 차지하는 비율을 감안한다면 한자 교육을 통한 한자어 학습의 효과를 생각하지 않을 수 없다. 또한 인명, 지명, 기관명, 전문용어 등을 생각해 본다면 생활 속에 한자어가 얼마나 빈번하게 사용되는지 알 수 있다. 이렇게 다량의 한자어를 포함하고 있는 한국어 어휘를 학습자에게 효과적으로 교육하기 위해 한자어의 교육은 불가피한 것으로 보인다. 또한 학습자들은 한자의 학습을 통해 한자어를 효과적으로 학습할 수 있고 한자어의 분석이 용이해지며 의미파악에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 따라서 한국어 학습자는 한자의 조어력을 통한 한자어 생산 과정을 학습하여 보다 풍부한 한국어 어휘를 학습할 수 있게 될 것이다. 본고의 한자 · 한자어 교수 학습 대상인 비한자문화권 학습자들은 한자문화권 학습자들과 달리 한자 자체에 대한 이해와 지식이 없으므로 한자에 대한 체계적인 학습이 이루어지지 않는다면 어휘 학습에서 한자어를 무조건 암기할 수 밖에 없다. 따라서 비한자문화권 학습자들에게는 한자를 보다 친숙하게 느끼도록 해야 하고 한국어 어휘 학습에 있어서 한자와 한자어를 장애 요소로 느끼지 않도록 도와야 한다. 비한자문화권 학습자를 위한 효과적인 한자 · 한자어 교수 학습 방안을 논의하기 위해서는 학습 단계에 맞는 한자 · 한자어 목록이 통합적으로 선정되어야 한다. 이를 위해 외국인 학습자를 위한 한국어 학습에서의 한자 · 한자어 교재를 분석하고 한자 · 한자어 교육의 기본이 되는 한자 목록을 검토, 비교하였다. 또한 현행 교재상의 한자 훈을 통합하고 대표 훈을 선정하여 한국어 교육용 한자 · 한자어 목록을 선정하였으며 이를 이용한 비한자문화권 한국어 학습자를 위한 한자 교수 학습 방안과 한자 · 한자어 통합 교수 학습 방안을 논의하였다. 본고에서 선정된 한국어 교육용 한자 · 한자어 목록은 추후 한자 · 한자어 교재 편찬에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 본고에서 논의한 한자 · 한자어 교수 학습 방안은 교육 현장에서 그 효과가 검증되어야 할 것이며 이는 다음 과제로 남기기로 한다.; The purpose of this study is to select the list of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character to educate Korean vocabulary for learner from non-Chinese character cultural area, and then to present teaching-learning method for Chinese character and word written in Chinese character by complementing problems on existing teaching materials for Chinese character and word written in Chinese character. The study on education of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character for learner of Korean has been continued since 1980's, and because Chinese character possesses large rate in Korean vocabulary, the effect of learning words written in Chinese character through education of Chinese character must be considered. Also as considered person's name, name of place, name of organization, technical terms, and so on, we can find how often a word written in Chinese character is used in life. Education of a word written in Chinese character in teaching Korean effectively is inevitable because many words written in Chinese character are included in Korean vocabulary. Learners can learn a word written in Chinese character effectively through education of Chinese character, analyze a word written in Chinese character easily, and can get a help in understanding the meaning. Therefore learner of korean will educate more abundant Korean vocabulary by learning process of making a word written in Chinese character through coinage of Chinese character. Unlike learners from Chinese character cultural area, Learners from non-Chinese character cultural area, subjects in this study, have no understanding and knowledge of Chinese character itself, so if they don't take systematic education of Chinese character, they must memorize words written in Chinese character in studying vocabulary. Accordingly we help learners from non-Chinese character cultural area feel more familiar with Chinese character, and we help them not to feel Chinese character and word written in Chinese character as an obstacle in studying Korean vocabulary. To discuss effective teaching-learning method of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character for learner from non-Chinese character cultural area, the list of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character suitable to learner's level must be selected unitively. For this, an author analyzed a material for Chinese character and word written in Chinese character in studying Korean for foreign learner, investigated and compared the list of Chinese character, which is basic in education of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character, furthermore selected the list of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character for the teaching of Korean by unifying Hoon (the Korean translation of a Chinese character) on existing materials and selecting representative Hoon, and discussed teaching-learning method of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character for non-Chinese character cultural area. The list of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character for the teaching of Korean selected in this study can be used effectively in compiling a material of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character. However, the effect of the teaching-learning method of Chinese character and word written in Chinese character discussed in this study must be inspected in real class, and it will be a challenge in future study.
