하이든 음악에 나타나는 극장과 살롱 문화의 영향

Abstract

본 논문에서는 하이든의 음악에 나타나는 극장과 살롱문화의 영향에 대해 알아보고, 또한 그러한 것들이 구체적으로 곡에 어떻게 나타나는지 살펴보았다. 이 논문의 첫 장에서는 하이든의 일대기를 3가지로 나누어 서술한 멜튼(James Van Horn Melton)의 논문 “학교, 무대, 살롱: 하이든의 비엔나에서의 음악 문화(School, Stage, Salon: Musical Cultures in Haydn's Vienna)"를 번역하여 시대적 상황과 배경이 그의 음악에 미친 영향들을 살펴보았고, 둘째 장에서는 현악4중주 Op.33, No.2를 통해 구체적으로 해학적이고 유머러스하며 대화적인 음악적 어법이 어떻게 작품에 적용되었는지 분석하였다. 하이든 작품에 나타나는 유머, 위트 그리고 아이러니적인 요소들은 합스부르크 군주제의 반종교개혁 정책에 의해 번성한 극장음악, 부를레스크의 영향이었으며 그의 실내악에 나타나는 독립된 성부의 대화적 요소는 1780년경의 비엔나 살롱 문화의 영향인 것을 알 수 있었다.; In the thesis, I made a general survey on the influence of theater and salon cultures on Joseph Haydn and examined the direct influences in his string quartet Op.33, No.2. The first part of this thesis consists of the translation of James Van Horn Melton's felicitous essay "School, Stage, Salon: Musical Cultures in Haydn's Vienna." The essay discusses that the humorous, witty and sometimes ironical elements in the works of Haydn are the result of influence of the theater music which had been thriven under the Habsburg Counter-reformation policy and of the burlesque, and dialogical elements of the independent parts in his chamber works are heritages of salon cultures at Vienna's 1780s. The second part gives an analysis of Haydn's String Quartet Op.33, No.2 which shows how the composer's comic, humorous and dialogical musical idioms have been applied to the work. In this analysis, I established relations musical to literary rhetoric applying buffa patterns for humorous, mixture and contrast in style for witty, and unexpected nonsense for ironic elements.
