전력선통신을 이용한 홈 네트워크시스템의 구현에 관한 연구

Abstract

전력선통신(PLC : Power Line Communications)은 전기를 공급하는 전력선의 상용주파수(60Hz) 전력신호에 고주파 신호를 중첩시켜 데이터를 전송하는 통신기술이다. 집안 곳곳에 포설되어 있는 전력선이 이미 하나의 네트워크를 구성하고 있기 때문에 전원 콘센트에 연결하는 것만으로 통신이 가능하다. 기존의 네트워크 환경을 변화시킬 필요도 없고 복잡한 케이블 시공의 수고도 덜 수 있다. 또한 가정 내의 임의의 전원 콘센트를 사용하면 되므로 이동성이나 확장성이 매우 뛰어나다. 본 논문에서는 전력선통신 기술 및 홈 네트워크 시스템에 대하여 고찰하고 시중에 판매되고 있는 전력선통신 모뎀을 이용하여 전력선통신을 이용한 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구현하였다.; Power line communications(PLC) is the technique of transmitting data by superposing high-frequency signalson commercial frequency (60Hz) signals in power lines supplying electricity. Because home’s power lines already form a network, the PLC can be easily performed by plugging a PLC modem into an outlet. The existing network environment does not need to be changed, and installation of additional cabling is not necessary. Because any outlet equipped inside a home can be used, the PLC offers mobility and expansibility. This thesis will examine the PLC technique and home-networking systems. It will also suggest a home-networking system which realizes the PLC by using a currently available PLC modem.
