외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 효과

Abstract

최근 외모에 대한 과도한 관심과 만연한 개인주의의 영향으로 심리적으로 많은 부정적인 현상들이 나타나고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 연구는 이러한 현상의 원인에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 외모만족도, 사회적 지지와 심리적 안녕감의 관계 이외에도 개인적 성격 특성인 거부민감성을 상정하여 외모만족도, 사회적 지지와 심리적 안녕감의 관계에서 어떠한 역할을 하는지 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 네 개의 연구문제를 설정하였다. 먼저 외모만족도, 사회적 지지 및 심리적 안녕감의 관계를 확인하였다. 두 번째는 외모만족도, 사회적 지지 및 거부민감성의 관계를 확인하였다. 세 번째는 거부민감성과 심리적 안녕감의 관계를 확인하였고, 네 번째는 외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 거부민감성이 매개하는지를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 대학생 300명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고 수거된 287부 중에서 286명의 자료가 최종적으로 분석에 사용되었다. 설문은 외모만족도를 측정함과 동시에 거부민감성, 사회적 지지, 심리적 안녕감을 응답하는 것이었다. 이 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 높을수록 심리적 안녕감이 높은 것으로 나왔다. 그리고 독립적인 효과를 검증한 결과, 외모만족도와 사회적 지지 모두 심리적 안녕감에 독립적으로 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 외모만족도에 관한 성별의 차이는 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 높을수록 거부민감성이 낮은 것으로 나왔다. 외모만족도와 사회적 지지와 거부기대는 부적상관을 보였고 허용기대와는 정적상관을 보였다. 그리고 독립적인 효과를 검증한 결과, 외모만족도와 사회적 지지 모두 심리적 안녕감에 독립적으로 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 거부민감성과 심리적 안녕감의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 거부민감성이 높을수록 심리적 안녕감이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향을 거부민감성이 매개하는지 확인한 결과, 위계적 모델이 지지되었다. 즉, 외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 높으면 개인의 거부민감성을 떨어뜨려 결국 개인의 심리적 안녕감이 높아졌다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해 외모만족도와 사회적 지지가 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미침을 확인한 동시에 거부민감성이 이 과정에 영향을 미치는 중요한 매개요인임을 밝혔다는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다. 본 연구에서는 위와 같은 내용을 중심으로 선행연구와 결부시켜 본 연구의 결과들을 논의하였고, 본 연구가 가지는 제한점을 논한 후, 이에 근거하여 후속연구의 필요성을 제안하였다.; It shows a lot of negative phenomenon of an appearance recently because of influence an excessive concern and a wide individualism. However, most studies focus on a reason of this phenomenon. In this study, we select a rejective sensitivity as a personal trait besides a relationship among appearance satisfaction, social support, and psychological well-being and how the rejective sensitivity roles in the appearance satisfaction, the social support, and the psychological well-being. There are four research issues in this study. First, the appearance satisfaction, the social support, and the psychological well-being will be confirmed. Second, the appearance satisfaction, the social support, and the rejective sensitivity will be confirmed. Third, the relationship between the rejective sensitivity and the psychological well-being also will be confirmed. Lastly, an influence of the appearance satisfaction and social support will mediate the psychological well-being. For this study, 300university students are responded in the research survey and 286students are replied among them. Therefore, 286 data for research is analyzed. A question of the survey measures the rejective sensitivity, the social support, and the psychological well-being and responds them. The result of this study as follows: First, the higher the appearance satisfaction and the social support, the higher the psychological well-being grows. And, the result of the independent probe indicates that the appearance satisfaction and the social support all influence the psychological well-being independently. However, there is no sexual difference in the appearance satisfaction. Second, it shows that the appearance and the social support are getting higher, the rejective sensitivity is getting lower. The expectation of rejection are negatively correlated with the appearance satisfaction and the social support. Those are positively correlated with the expectation of permission. Third, the result of the rejective sensitivity and the psychological well-being show that the higher rejective sensitivity, the lower the psychological well-being. Fourth, the appearance satisfaction and social support affect the psychological well-being that support a hierarchical model. As a result of this, individuals' psychological well-being are increased because the appearance satisfaction and the social support are increased by decreased individuals' rejective sensitivity. Through the result of this study, the psychological well-being are influenced by the appearance satisfaction and the social support. Also, the rejective sensitivity shows that it can be an important factor of this study. Not only a significant finding, but also this study have an worth of the investigation in further research. Therefore, this study suggests the follow-up research after a meaningful discussion for the limitation of this study.
