Abstract
This paper introduces the system identification (SI) method using Differential Evolutionary (DE) algorithm for damaged concrete slab bridges. This proposed method is able to detect the damage existence, locations, angle and magnitude, moving velocity and load from the dynamic response. Firstly, a three dimensional finite element model test is constructed to consider the effect of damage for the slab. Next, a set of the dynamic response data is extracted from this FE model. To demonstrate the feasibility of the Differential Evolutionary (DE) algorithm, the proposed method is applied to this defected model. The results prove that the method is a effective method that can estimate not only the damage locations but also moving velocity and load under the unknown initial moving load and velocity. The 5% error of the estimated locations is due to the difference between the FE model damage and bi-variate Gaussian function. Finally, the proposed method using the DE algorithm is verified the accuracy.
